ABOUT
hi! you've stumbled into my side of the internet it seems. you can call me yawns because that's my funny little handle I like to use.Candy Fae is my art baby, my persona for selling at artist alleys and online!the name comes from weirdly enough, not a love of candies (I'm more of a pastry person...). I love rainbows of colour, neons, pastels, all of it is incredible to me and I cannot get enough. It can be a bit much but I enjoy that :) also candy cabinets in the arcade world. I'm thoroughly inspired by video games ranging from old online virtual world classics like neopets and club penguin, to retro guys like crash and spyro.I don't take myself too seriously and my art is an expression of my funky little brain. I'm a very fluid person by nature in terms of what I like to create, my gender and each new hobby I jump into.I've been self taught since I was a kid, simply just brute forcing new techniques and styles, spending hours in different programs trying out every single brush and texture I get my grubby hands on.In recent years I decided to make the move to create physical goods and merch I can share (and try make a living doing so!). I live with an array of chronic mental and physical health conditions so art is my escape but also my job.I have been doing digital art since I was around 10, making very silly drawings of my neopets and spriting fakemon on mspaint. My dad bought me a wacom bamboo tablet shortly after around my 12th birthday (I think? let's go with that it sounds right) and I've been hooked ever since.I lean towards cutesy and what would affectionately be called a clusterfuck of an artstyle.I also enjoy cosplaying, burlesque, drag, makeup...a lot of things that also involve creativity and flair. You'll find me at some local cons, some interstate and probably in big platform shoes.
